This investigation of steroid hormone pathway genes in a large case-control study has identified and confirmed age-specific genetic associations with breast cancer risk for SNPs in four genes. Age-related associations with risk could have profound implications for the use of SNP genotyping to accurately predict breast cancer risk in women.
